The PixiLearn Platform
PixiLearn is a medical imaging training platform that largely emphasizes practical training through interactive clinical cases.
PixiLearn is composed of 3 main categories of pedagogical tools : The medical imaging viewer, an e-learning and an online virtual classroom system.
All these pedagogical tools are available via a simple browser without any software installation on your computer.
PixiLearn courses can thus be followed from anywhere, from your office or while traveling.
The PixiLearn platform can host educational content delivered during synchronous sessions (lecturer and learner online at the same time) or asynchronous sessions.
The platform can also be used in person, remotely, or in a hybrid format.
PixiLearn Pedagogical Tools
The Imaging Viewer
Our imaging viewer aims to provide the learner with a complete image processing solution, allowing them to visualize medical images under the same conditions as if they were in their healthcare facility.
Our viewer is a comprehensive viewer enabling advanced image processing such as MPR, MIP reconstructions, oblique plane generation, or specific quantifications (SUV, bidirectional size, etc…)

Unlike the few medical imaging training platforms that offer clinical cases built around rudimentary viewers, our viewer is capable of managing all types of imaging, whether planar or volumetric, including fused images such as PET/CT.
The PixiLearn viewer utilizes the user’s PC hardware resources for all calculation and visualization generation operations, thus behaving like a professional workstation with great fluidity.
We have included unprecedented functionalities in this viewer, such as the integration of the clinical case context within the viewer, easy access to cases organized according to the training’s progression, and secure access for course participants after a single authentication allowing access to all PixiLearn services.
We have also designed interactivity around the viewer, in synchronous sessions, with a remote control module allowing the presenter to take control of all participants’ viewers to maintain audience attention on the clinical case during their explanations.
The asynchronous mode has also been optimized to allow the disclosure of areas of interest prepared by the lecturer after a period of reflection on the case. These areas of interest act as an overlay of the areas to be identified in the imaging.
Interactive Virtual Classrooms : Rich and Dynamic Exchanges
Virtual classes are created using the BigBlueButton tool, a benchmark in the field, directly integrated into PixiLearn. This collaborative project has established a new standard in virtual classroom organization; more than just a video conferencing system, it is a training tool that allows for extensive interactivity, such as an interactive whiteboard, the ability to create breakout rooms for subgroups, or interactive polls directly extracted from questions posed on a slide deck.

With our virtual classroom tool, we can create captivating, dynamic, and interactive training sessions with participants, whether they are remote or hybrid.
E-learning Tools
The e-learning tool used by PixiLearn is the renowned Moodle software, used by most universities worldwide.
Moodle is an international collaborative project, a reference tool for online training.
All of Moodle’s pedagogical engineering, the fruit of several decades of international exchanges and contributions, is available on PixiLearn.
This includes QCM (Multiple Choice Question) tests that can use a wide range of formats such as multiple choice, single choice, image-based questions, concept associations, etc.

Onboarding for Lecturers and Learners
For Learners
To familiarize themselves with the pedagogical tools, learners are invited to discover PixiLearn’s functionalities and tools during their first connections.
This onboarding module is conducted through didactic videos presenting the tools available on PixiLearn and a demonstration clinical case to get hands-on with the imaging viewer.
Learners are invited to follow this module (approximately 15 minutes), which ensures the proper availability of the tools (qualification of their computer, etc.) and good handling of the main tools to be ready to follow conferences on PixiLearn.
For Lecturers
Lecturers also benefit from didactic videos for getting started with PixiLearn, presenting the pedagogical tools available for training and practical scenarios for these functionalities.
Lecturers are supported by Pixilib for the setup of their training courses, including anonymization and installation of clinical cases, PPT formatting for optimal system compatibility, and pedagogical engineering advice to create training courses that best leverage these new tools.

Use Cases
Clinical Cases Before or After In-Person Training Sessions
As part of an in-person training at a congress, PixiLearn was used for access to clinical cases associated with progressive QCMs.
The QCMs presented progressive clinical cases for which images were available for each question; the images were viewed on the PixiLearn viewer, and participants answered the QCMs posed to them regarding these images.
Pixilib exported a statistical report of the responses obtained, which allowed participants to discuss these images during their in-person congress.

Synchronous Online Training
Online synchronous training, through virtual classrooms, is PixiLearn’s primary use case.
In this use case, lecturers and participants are online at the same time on our integrated education-oriented video conferencing tool.
This tool allows for discussion, document sharing, and interactive tools such as polls, enabling rich and direct exchanges between lecturers and participants.

Asynchronous Online Training
PixiLearn is also usable asynchronously with pre-recorded pedagogical content such as presentations, documents, or video capsules.
Clinical cases are, of course, available for progressive consultation throughout the predefined pedagogical pathway.
Clinical cases can also include annotations prepared by the professor, which will act as an overlay to highlight important elements to visualize on the imaging viewer.
Smooth and Easily Accessible Programmes
All our programmes are available remotely, and online registration takes just a few minutes. By completing the registration form, you will automatically receive a request to sign your training contract.
After electronic signature, your access to PixiLearn will be created. A brief video introduction will help you familiarise yourself with the platform in minutes.
On PixiLearn, you’ll find all the educational tools in one place, whether for MCQs, pedagogical documents, interactive clinical cases, virtual classrooms, or obtaining your certificate of completion.
We have created a unique and modern learning experience, allowing simple, quick access to our unique medical imaging educational content.
