Pedagogy

Our pedagogical approach to medical imaging training

Alliance of theory and clinical practice in medical imaging

The alliance of theory and clinical practice

Our trainings are designed to combine theoretical knowledge and learning through practice, which is the DNA of Pixilib and its PixiLearn training platform. We have seen for too long static trainings in medical imaging projecting screenshots in slideshows. It is time to change habits and integrate real training that combines scientific knowledge and learning through practice via real interactive clinical cases.

PixiLearn interactive tools: virtual classrooms and integrated medical imaging viewer

The alliance of theory and clinical practice

We have integrated all educational tools into a single platform: PixiLearn. Our viewer allows exploration of medical imaging in its entirety — not extracts, captures, or key images. We want real practice-based training, a time for autonomous reflection on real imaging as if you were working in your hospital. At the end of this reflection, an expert will discuss the case with you. This direct relationship with the expert through practical case-based training makes them a mentor capable of helping you improve your practice.

The alliance of theory and clinical practice

We recruit the most talented experts who are most passionate about teaching. Pixilib works remotely, which makes it possible to make specialized expertise accessible to the greatest number of people without geographical limits. We love experts who work with passion — the passion of transmitting their knowledge and promoting better medicine in the service of our patients.

Funding

Funding and regulatory framework (DPC, OPCO…)

PixiLearn trainings are part of a clear regulatory framework and can benefit from suitable funding schemes (DPC, OPCO), depending on your professional status.

Validity of your Continuing Professional Development path

PixiLearn is registered with ANDPC for continuing education actions in medical imaging.
Trainings that have obtained ANDC certification are announced in our catalog. These trainings validate the continuing education path of the concerned healthcare professionals and are also directly visible on the ANDPC website.
This certification is obtained by Pixilib training by training after review of the competencies of the training designer(s) and review of the pedagogical program.

However, not all trainings are DPC-eligible. Trainings without this recognition are simply due to the fact that they cover subjects that ANDPC does not consider as priority in the training of healthcare professionals. You can of course enroll voluntarily if they match your personal expectations; they will not be funded by ANDPC but may still be funded by OPCO if you are employed (see below).

Coverage terms for self-employed and salaried professionals

The training funding system in France has different articulations depending on your status.

If you are a self-employed healthcare professional under convention or a salaried employee of a private healthcare center under convention, your trainings may benefit from ANDPC funding for DPC-eligible trainings. In this framework, each year you benefit from an hourly draw entitlement to distribute among the validating trainings of your choice. Each training hour you use in this framework allows you to benefit from coverage of pedagogical fees to fund the training organization and from an hourly compensation for your time devoted to your training.
Pixilib strives to follow the package eligible for coverage of pedagogical fees to offer trainings with no out-of-pocket cost.
If you want to validate the DPC coverage, you need to validate your registration on your ANDPC account before the start of the training (see procedures on your ANDPC account).

If you are a civil servant or salaried in a non-conventioned training center, your trainings can be covered by OPCO within the limit of the funding allocated to your company (each OPCO publishes its rules).
Pixilib is Qualiopi-certified, this certification thus allows the funding of your trainings by OPCO.

Finally, you can also fund yourself on your own funds; the training you follow is usually contracted in the name of the company in which you practice and should constitute a deductible charge in your accounting year.

Last point, at Pixilib we are committed to not excluding anyone from our trainings: personnel in initial training (medical interns…) benefit from a (very) reduced price. We know it is an age when training needs are significant while funding capacity is still low — it is natural for us to take this specificity into account.
