Being a Lecturer on PixiLearn

PixiLearn is an open platform for lecturers driven by a genuine teaching vocation, who want to share their knowledge and expertise with fellow professionals.

Becoming a lecturer allows you to contribute to the spread of knowledge and the improvement of medical practices across generations and beyond borders.

PixiLearn lets you create unique educational content through the integration of interactive clinical cases and multiple interactive tools, enabling applied training sessions that are directly transferable to your learners' professional practice.

Clinical Cases at the Heart of PixiLearn Pedagogy

PixiLearn places experience-based learning at the centre of medical imaging education.

Experience-based learning enables self-assessment of one's own knowledge, identification of strengths and weaknesses, and pinpointing areas to consolidate or deepen.

This scenario encourages practitioners to question their own practice and measure the impact of knowledge gaps on patient management — stimulating more effective learning mechanisms than a purely passive theoretical course.

PixiLearn combines different educational tools for immersive training, such as:

  • Clinical cases on the viewer to practise real-world interpretation
  • Text-based courses / video capsules
  • Virtual classrooms with direct interaction with the lecturer
  • MCQ tests or written radiology reports on clinical cases
  • Progressive learning pathways adapted to the learner's level

PixiLearn enables you to produce training tailored to your target audience through its pedagogical tools and Pixilib's support in building your courses.

Lecturer Selection Criteria

We look above all for lecturers with a genuine teaching vocation — a passion for sharing knowledge and fostering discussion.

All our lecturers are active medical professionals, experts in their clinical practice and recognised by their peers.

Scientific activity is naturally an indicator of expertise but is not required — not all researchers are great teachers, and not all great teachers are researchers.

More than a CV or a list of publications, we welcome lecturers who are truly committed to the exchange and transmission of knowledge in medical imaging.

We place great importance on participant feedback and course evaluations.
For PixiLearn, the best courses are those that satisfy their audience and contribute to improving clinical practice.

The Teaching Workflow at PixiLearn

The distinctive feature of PixiLearn is the ability to integrate interactive clinical cases into courses.

We recommend a clinical-case-centred course structure organised in 3 stages:

Step 1
Introductory clinical cases
enabling self-assessment of strengths and knowledge gaps
Step 2
Progressive theoretical content
identifying the key knowledge, bibliographic references, and state of the art in the discipline
Step 3
Practice clinical cases
Consolidation cases of increasing difficulty, designed to challenge the knowledge acquired.

Courses can be delivered live in a virtual classroom format, with all participants online through an education-oriented video-conferencing system, course materials shared in real time, and interactive clinical case sessions discussed collectively.

They can also be delivered in an asynchronous format, with course materials and clinical cases accessible to participants at any time, while still allowing them to address questions to the lecturer(s).

While we propose a model format for innovating in medical imaging education, we know that the best course is one that satisfies both lecturers and participants — we therefore grant our lecturers a wide degree of pedagogical freedom.

Pedagogical Freedom

PixiLearn aims to offer innovative pedagogical tools in medical imaging to create training courses that are truly unique in their format and content.

We place great importance on the pedagogical freedom of each lecturer — we make suggestions but impose no pedagogical constraints on our lecturers.

All available tools will be presented to lecturers with our support, so they can be integrated optimally into the learning pathway defined by the lecturer.

Lecturer Support

As a lecturer you will be supported throughout the development of your course — focus on your educational content and we will guide you at every step.

The pedagogical tools will be presented to you so you can build your course to its best potential. PixiLearn includes a very wide range of pedagogical possibilities — they will be explained to you and will give you ideas to optimise your course.

Clinical cases will be anonymised by our team. We place great importance on anonymisation, which enables safe reuse of imaging data in compliance with GDPR. This covers both metadata and potentially identifiable areas such as the patient's face — our approach is maximalist to guarantee confidentiality.
The viewer will be configured to meet your visualisation needs, and clinical cases will be installed by our team.
Your slide decks will be reviewed to ensure perfect compatibility with our systems during virtual classroom sessions, and we provide support throughout the entire course.
Pixilib handles all the technical aspects — as a lecturer, focus on your educational content and we take care of everything else.

Recognition

PixiLearn gives lecturers visibility for their courses to reach the widest possible audience, and highlights participant evaluations that reflect the quality of educational content.

Access to courses is open to any physician regardless of their specialty, practice setting or location. Courses can also be delivered in multiple languages to reach a global audience.

Courses naturally remunerate lecturers for their investment, in proportion to the interest they generate within the professional community.
