The PixiLearn Platform
PixiLearn is a medical imaging training platform that places a strong emphasis on learning-by-doing through interactive clinical cases.
PixiLearn comprises 3 main categories of educational tools: the medical imaging viewer, an e-learning system, and an online virtual classroom system.
All these tools are available through a simple web browser — no software installation required on your computer.
PixiLearn courses can be followed from anywhere, whether from your office or while travelling.
The platform can host educational content delivered in synchronous sessions (lecturer and learner online at the same time) or asynchronously.
It can also be used in face-to-face, remote or hybrid settings.

The Imaging Viewer
Our imaging viewer provides learners with a comprehensive image-processing solution, enabling them to view medical images under the same conditions as in their own institution.
It is a full-featured viewer supporting advanced image processing such as MPR and MIP reconstructions, oblique plane generation, and specific quantifications (SUV, bidirectional measurements…).

Unlike the few medical imaging training platforms that offer clinical cases built around a rudimentary viewer, our viewer handles all types of imaging — planar or volumetric, including fused modalities such as PET/CT.
The PixiLearn viewer uses the user's PC hardware for all computation and rendering — performing like a professional processing workstation with great fluidity.
We have included unique features such as the integration of clinical case context directly in the viewer, easy access to cases organised according to the course flow, and secure single-sign-on access for course participants.
We have also designed interactivity around the viewer: in synchronous sessions, the presenter can take remote control of all participants' viewers simultaneously, keeping the audience focused on the clinical case during explanations.
Asynchronous mode has also been optimised to reveal areas of interest prepared by the lecturer after a period of reflection on the case. These areas of interest act as an overlay highlighting the zones to be identified on the imaging.
Our Courses
Interactive virtual classrooms: rich and dynamic exchanges
Virtual classrooms are powered by BigBlueButton — a reference tool in the field — directly integrated into PixiLearn. This collaborative project has established a new standard in virtual classroom organisation.
More than just a video-conferencing system, it is a training tool that enables wide interactivity: interactive whiteboard, breakout rooms, and interactive polls extracted directly from questions posed on a slide presentation.

With our virtual classroom tool, we can create captivating, dynamic, interactive training sessions with participants whether delivered remotely or in a hybrid format.
E-learning Tools
The e-learning tool used by PixiLearn is the renowned Moodle software, used by most universities worldwide. Moodle is an international collaborative project and the reference platform for online education.
The full pedagogical engineering of Moodle — the fruit of several decades of international contributions — is available on PixiLearn.
This includes MCQ tests supporting a wide range of formats: multiple-choice, single-answer, image-based questions, concept-matching and more…
An imaging viewer
Explore images with features specific to nuclear medicine imaging.
Expert-led courses
National experts ensuring high-quality learning based on the latest scientific advances.
Interactive clinical cases
Simulations of diagnostic and management scenarios for medical imaging training.
Written assignments can be used to collect radiology report interpretations produced by participants, enabling a complete simulation of a radiologist's workflow.
Integration of multiple document formats (PDF…) or video capsules, which can appear progressively within a predefined course sequence.
Onboarding Lecturers and Learners
For learners
To get familiar with the educational tools, learners are invited to discover PixiLearn's features and tools during their first sessions.
This onboarding module is delivered through short tutorial videos presenting the tools available on PixiLearn, along with a demonstration clinical case to practice using the imaging viewer.
Learners are invited to complete this module (approximately 15 minutes), which ensures their equipment is properly set up and that they are comfortable with the main tools before attending courses on PixiLearn.
For lecturers
Lecturers also benefit from tutorial videos to get to grips with PixiLearn, presenting the educational tools available for courses and practical demonstrations of these features.
Lecturers are supported by Pixilib throughout the setup of their courses: anonymisation and installation of clinical cases, formatting of slide decks for optimal system compatibility, and pedagogical engineering advice to design courses that make the best use of these new tools.
Use Cases
Clinical cases before or after an in-person training session
In the context of an in-person training at a conference, PixiLearn was used to provide access to clinical cases linked to progressive MCQs. Imaging was viewed on the PixiLearn viewer and participants answered questions about the cases.
Pixilib exported a statistical report of responses, allowing participants to discuss the cases during the in-person conference. PixiLearn was also used after the event…

Synchronous online training
Synchronous online training through virtual classrooms is PixiLearn's primary use case. Lecturers and participants are online at the same time through our integrated education-oriented video-conferencing tool.
This tool enables discussion, document sharing, and interactive features such as polls, allowing rich and direct exchanges between lecturers and participants. The viewer includes a remote-control feature allowing a lecturer or student to highlight imaging elements with a single click…

Screen sharing enables immersive discussions around the clinical case. This feature aims to reproduce the senior/resident teaching model — sharing and reasoning together on the same clinical imaging case and discussing key elements of patient management.
Asynchronous online training
PixiLearn can also be used asynchronously with pre-recorded educational content such as presentations, documents or video capsules.
Clinical cases are available for progressive consultation throughout the predefined learning pathway.
Clinical cases can also include annotations prepared by the lecturer, acting as an overlay to highlight the key elements to identify on the imaging viewer.
Smooth and easy access to training
All our courses are available remotely — registration takes only a few minutes online.
By completing the registration form, you will automatically receive a request to sign your training contract.
After electronic signature, your PixiLearn access will be created and a short onboarding video (a few minutes) will help you get familiar with the platform.
You will find all educational tools in one place on PixiLearn: MCQs, course materials, interactive clinical cases, virtual classrooms and your completion certificate.
We have created a unique and modern learning experience — providing simple, fast access in just a few minutes to our groundbreaking medical imaging educational content.
PixiLearn Courses
PixiLearn courses are training programmes offered directly by Pixilib, delivered by lecturers selected for their expertise and teaching quality. Pixilib is in the process of registering its courses for continuing medical education (CPD/DPC).
For training organisations
PixiLearn is also available for training organisations wishing to modernise their programmes by integrating innovative educational tools. Contact us for more information on making PixiLearn available for your courses.
